1. The Academy of Business Administration

1- Business Management  

The Program  

The degree in Business Management emphasizes the development of decision-making skills with practicality and relevance in order to help the students enter executive or managing positions confidently.  The Course work is related to real business problems, so as to train students in all aspects of the business world and the usage of modern communication tools and information technology.  Students will also learn to formulate policies and direct the operations of businesses and corporations.

The Degree

The Lebanese government, Ministry of Higher Vocational Education, officially recognizes the DTS in Business Administration (Business Management concentration).  Holders of this degree are entitled to pursue further studies in this field such as the BA, MBA, MS, DBA and Ph.D. degrees which AAT offers to its students via its modern international audio-visual network.  

Course Duration

A Minimum of 3 years is needed to complete the degree at the Sophomore entry level (78 credits for DTS).  Freshman students will have to complete 30 credits (1  academic year) prior to the Sophomore entry-level.

BS candidates will complete up to 30 additional credits with AAT’s university affiliates.

Job Opportunities  

Graduates of this program will work as managers, executives, or management consultants.  They will be expected to formulate policies, and direct the operations of businesses and corporations in both, public and private sectors.

 

2- Accounting

The Program  

This program is designed to allow students to analyze, and verify financial reports and taxes, and monitor information systems that provide this information to managers in business, industry, and government.  A degree in accounting aims to provide students with the technical and academic background necessary to work as accountants in business and industry while simultaneously providing a general education in business, computing and quantitative management techniques for decision making.

The Degree

The Lebanese government, Ministry of Higher Vocational Education, officially recognizes the DTS in Accounting.  Holders of this degree are entitled to pursue further undergraduate and graduate degrees in Accounting and Auditing via AAT’s international audio-visual network and obtain the BS, MS, MBA, CPA, DBA and Ph.D. if they so desire.

 

 

 

Course Duration

A minimum of 3 years is needed to complete the degree at the  entry level (78 credits for the DTS).  Freshman students will have to complete 30 credits (1 academic  year) prior to the Sophomore entry-level.

Job Opportunities

Holders of a degree in accounting will be asked to work in various kinds of organizations, institutions, or corporations, especially accounting and financial firms.  Their job titles would range from accountants to auditors to financial assistants.

3-     Management Information Systems (B. C.)

 

The Program

The MIS program or the Business computer teaches students how to gather, and use field data in decision making.  More specifically, MIS scholars learn to provide project management, business analysis, feasibility studies, computer software evaluation, systems analysis, database administration, and evaluation of external computer services for administrative applications.

 

 

The Degree

The Program

The hospitality industry is becoming increasingly important in today’s ever-changing environment, and job opportunities are increasing rapidly.  Through this program students are taught and trained on meeting the demands of providing service to people of all nations.  It also provides an insight into the technical aspects of accommodation provision, major characteristics of food and beverage, and an understanding of the individual’s social, economic organizational and financial factors that shape the management of hotel and catering businesses.  Hospitality management students learn to supervise efficient and profitable operations and are taught the principles of safety and hygiene.

This program prepares students for career opportunities in a wide array of food manufacturing, production, distribution, and marketing systems.  Academic studies in food production and catering prepare students for middle management positions in hotels, catering, restaurants, and other food-service units.  The practical work experience and internship required in this major give students the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world situations.

The Program

Students enrolled in this program are exposed to production scheduling, staffing, equipment, quality control, inventory control, and the coordination of production activities with those of other departments in a work setting.  Monitoring of product standards, Total Quality Management, and improvement of the products are also taught.  Production management also includes planning and implementing company goals, policies, and procedures, along with training students on solving decision-making problems.

The Program

Students will learn to develop the firm’s detailed marketing strategy, and determine the demand for products and services offered by the firm and its competitors and identify potential consumers.  They also will learn to monitor trends that indicate any need for new products and services and oversee product development.  Advertising students learn creative ways to develop subject matter and present it.  Students also deal with selective communication media, for example radio, television, newspapers, magazines, or outdoor signs.

The Program

Students gained a thorough understanding of both risk management and insurance theory and practice.  Exposure to the legal, actuarial, financial, and economic principles underlying corporate risk management, with specific applications to individual, business, and social problems form the core of the program.  In addition, the functional areas of insurance company management are explored in depth.  Students will be exposed to actuarial mathematics, and life contingency problems associated with risk evaluation.

The Program

This program provides the analytical structure that is essential for understanding the financial and economic aspects of an enterprise.  The course-load offered in this major have been designed to assist the student in attaining proficiency in identification, analysis and implementation of business and investment opportunities.  This option is obviously attractive to students interested in applied Economics, policy analysis, Business and Finance, and to those students who want a career in corporate planning or economic consulting.  It emphasizes also the economic and analytic underpinnings of today’s businesses as well as the development and application of computer-based econometric and forecasting models.

The Program

Students will learn to develop the necessary office skills in order to implement the decisions taken by the organization’s officers without recourse to them.  They learn to file properly all documents, issue and receive correspondence of the firm in proper and effective ways in order to relieve the top administrators from the daily fellow up and implementation of the decision making process.

The Program

This major deals with the design and development of new software systems and the incorporation of technological advances into new or existing systems.  Computer science focuses on the design of the software that runs computers, development of information technologies, and adapting principles for the application of computers to new uses. This study, however, is marked by the higher level of theoretical courses offered, and the innovative ways that students learn to apply to complex problems thus leading to the creation or application of new technologies.

This area of concentration exposes the students to information technology concepts and its applications.  It deals with the scientific study of the nature of information and its organization, retrieval and analysis.  Courses cover major concepts and applications which are central to controlling the manipulation and dissemination of information, such as information systems design and development, life cycles, and systems failures and remedies.  The student is also trained on networking connections and use of the Internet and on methods, strategies for planning and implementing of information technology into business.

This major is concerned with assisting on site civil engineers in the design and construction of roads, buildings, and water supply and sewage systems.

The Lebanese government, Ministry of Higher Vocational Education, officially recognizes the DTS in Engineering information (Civil Engineering concentration).  Holders of this degree are entitled to pursue further studies in this field such as the BS, MS, and Ph.D. degrees, which AAT offers to its students via its modern international audio-visual network.

A minimum of 3 years is needed to complete the degree at the  entry level (111 credits for DTS).  Freshman students will have to complete 30 credits (1 academic  year) prior to the Sophomore entry-level.

Candidates will complete up to 39 additional credits with AAT’s university affiliates, and acquire the MS degree in Civil Engineering.

2- Electrical Engineering

 

The Program

This major is concerned with assisting on site electrical engineers in the design and construction of power stations.  The course of study is concerned with the conversion of energy into electricity, the design of systems for the control and transmission of electricity to meet man’s needs.

The Program

This major is concerned with assisting on site electrical and electronic  engineers in the design and construction of energy stations.  This field of study aims at designing power systems and devices for the control and transmission of energy to the benefit of society.

The Program

This major is concerned with assisting in the three languages of Arabic, English and French all sorts of comprehensive translations to a growing need of immediate information in various fields of knowledge.  It also promotes the multilingual cultures of Lebanon, and enhances its interests in the modern world.

 

 

The Degree

The Lebanese government, Ministry of Higher Vocational Education, officially recognizes the DTS in Translation & Interpretation.  Holders of either degree are entitled to pursue further studies in this field such as the BA or MA, which AAT offers to its candidates via its modern international audio-visual network.

 

 

Course Duration

A minimum of 3 years is needed to complete the degree at the  entry level (111 credits for DTS).  Freshman students will have to complete 30 credits (1 academic  year) prior to the Sophomore entry-level. 

DTS candidates may complete up to 45 supplementary credits, and acquire the MA degree with AAT’s university affiliates.

Degree holders will be offered jobs  in the private sectors of services, management, liberal professions and in the public sector, notably in the ministries of foreign affairs, Tourism, education, information, health , trade, Radio, TV, not to mention job possibilities at the United Nations, Embassies, and the like.
