THE GRADUATE COUNCIL (GC) 1.
Objectives
and Composition The GC consists of the Dean and five
master and Ph.D. program Directors as permanent members.
These members are appointed by the GEB; each one represents one or two
disciplines. The GC duties are: -
To
deliberate each individual file received from the GAC, and to present its
decision(s) to the GEC for approval. -
To update, and
recommend new rules and regulations. -
To handle
petitions submitted by graduate students. -
To supervise
policies on probation and provisional candidates, and follow upon the students
acceptance status. -
To orient, advise
and sign the students’ registration forms. -
To recommend and
appoint chairmen and theses sponsoring committees in conformity with the
Affiliate University’s request. -
To recommend the
type(s) and amount(s) of students’ merit awards to the Dean before they are
brought before the President to be considered by him for approval. -
To prepare and/or
to administer the area examinations for the undergoing programs at the request
of the concerned Director(s) in conformity with the Affiliate University’s
rules. - To prepare, and administer the oral examinations & to act as jury for the defense of the candidates’ theses at the request of the concerned Director(s), the Dean and the Affiliate university requirements. |
